My new X5 Diesel Exec Sports with Chrome Exhaust Tips & Towbar

Picked up my new X5 with Drive Adaptive & Steer, first thing I did was put chrome exhaust tips on. Also had a towbar installed, the finish is not great where they cut the back bumper bar so I put some trim around it.

Nice pipes ! It actually has a smaller cutout than some other pictures I have seen (refer http://www.xoutpost.com/attachments/x...nstructins.pdf) !! I've put my towbar on hold until service dept can confirm the install end result.. any pics of the interior and exterior (front/side) ??

Hi Mate,

The dealer is getting me a new rear bumper bar and a molding to go around the cutout. I still think the smallest possible cutout for the towbar is the best, anyway we will see what it looks like, I think it won't be any better than what I have now.

The chrome tips came up good, not bad considering one is a holden tip and the other is a ford tip, that was the only way I could get a left & right angle.

The adaptive drive is awesome, I don't thik I would ever go back to normal suspension again.

I am now off to the dealer to get the Nokia cradle installed, one of the rear mud flaps is loose and they going to refit it and I also have a clunk in the front adaptive drive sway bar.

Talk again

Don't you have a towbar that is completely hidden under bumber? That is what you get in Europe when you order a towbar. That cutout does not look good

Thumbs down

That towbar apparently does not meet the required standards in Australia and is not available.. I am not sure of the load rating of the european option but we have been informed that it is not available...I certainly like the look of the european option .. !!!

Too bad. Allowed tow is 2700 kg and with air suspension 3500 kg. Your version looks very robust though...

front end clunk .. did you get a fix?

Hi there. I have the same front end clunk in the undercarriage as you seem to have. Did you ever get it fixed?

I've had my e70 3.0 in to the dealer THREE times and they cannot fix it.. and didn't really say much more. i can't say that i'm pleased with the situation. they replaced the sway bar end links the first time, then moved some aluminum shield.. and then just "tightened everything".. no luck. when I hit pot holes (not on purpose of course.. these days i am paranoid about it and swerve when i see them) or speed bumps at a 5-20mph speed there's a loud clunk in the front end and maybe even a rattle in the center / back.

Thanks!
