BMW Individual paint and 21" wheels question

I was wondering if anyone in the US successfully ordered a BMW individual color on their E70, if so, was it a standard BMW color, or something different.

I wanted to get another shade of white instead of alpine.

Also, can you order the car directly with any of the OEM 21" wheels instead of buying them later from the accessories catalog? I'd rather do that if it's cost effective.

Thanks in advance for your responses!

No idea on the first.

On the second, nope, you need to keep the original set or sell em, and then fit the 21".

Cheers,

Are you sure about that? BMW offer the "individual" option which allows you to select pretty much anything you want. If you speak to your dealer about the "BMW Individual" options, they could probably accomodate you.

BMW Individual on X5s isn't available in the US

I guess I'll stick with the 20"s then.

I will ask the dealer about the paint, I am sure something must be possible, because I think there were Imola 4.4's, even though that was a 4.8 color on the previous gen.

I'd like some other shade of white...

Yes there were other colors available for e53s at a +$2k price, but that option is usually a few years into the lifecycle as a priority 1 option. Don't think its available in the 1st year of e70s.

I found a BMW website that shows the Individual options for the E70.

At the moment it is only showing Ruby Black and Pearl Silver, and does not show any interior options.

The link is http://www.bmw.com/com/en/index_narr.../site_map.html (click on the BMW Individual X5 in teh X5 section)

thanks!
I'll probably go to the dealer in the next couple of weeks and try to negotiate a price, I'll find out then if I can order something other than alpine for a fee.

I know it's unlikely, but I am waiting for an 08, and we've bought some cars from them before.

These are the colors I pulled from a BMW color list, unfortunately, I can't find any pictures of them.

137 Perlmutt Mother of Pearl Metallic White

265 Weissalu White Aluminum Metallic White 51 91 2 323 168

389 Hell-elfenbein II Light Ivory Standard White 51 91 1 052 514

999 Perlweiss Pearl White

I currently have an Imola Red 04 X5; since our lease is about up we have been shopping for a new X5, we tried everything under the sun to get another Imola Red car, they are just not accepting any special order paint jobs. There reasoning is that the factory is overbooked and stopping paint production to produce one car is just not worth it. I paid $2,500 back in 04 for the special paint and would have gladly paid it again, NO WAY.. Anyway I'm not crazy about the color selection, but we settled on saphire black. Good Luck

that's what I figured, my dealer has 2 orders and 0 allocations as of the other day. I'm going to ask them about the special color when I go to order, but I'm sure I'll have to go for alpine.
