AC and side vents...poor airflow

My AC has very poor airflow out of the side air vents, it is about 50% less than the center vents. Is this normal?

I primarily use the "AUTO" mode and at times the side vents drop down to zero airflow which makes the interior very warm.

Anyone else experiencing issues w/ poor airflow out of the side vents?

I have tried adjusting the 10,000 settings in IDrive, but nothing improves my problem.

I have the same issue with the side vent.

Same problem here

Thought it was I-Drive illiteracy. I've massaged the setting without getting anything but a puff of air from the side vents.

i have noticed the same thing on mine, but haven't had time to play with the settings in the iDrive to see if adjusting anything helps. i remember there being the option of adjusting where the air is coming from, but i think that's only floor, dash, and windshield (no differentiation between middle and side vents in dash, if I recall...).

And I do have the ventilated seats, but don't think that makes a difference.

ok, sounds like we all have the same issue...I thought I might have a problem, sounds like its by design.

Its hot as hell here and the lack of airflow really sucks right now.

i posted about it on bimmerfest. i actually have 2 messages on my machine from BMW NA customer service today. probably saw the posts on 2 separate boards and realized it is probably something to investigate.

i cant cool off on my entire 15 min ride home, and i even plan ahead and get the "auto vent" running before i leave.
