New Member, E70 Ordered

Hi

Just a quickie to introduce myself.

Found this forum, it seems about the most active E70 forum.

Have ordered an new E70, its due in 10 days - that'll be 10 very long days!

Spec:
3.0d SE, Sapphire Black + Beige Leather
Dynamic Pack
Media Pack
20" wheels
Privacy Glass
Alu Running Boards
Heated Seats
+ a few others extra's

I'll post a few pics when I get it, can't wait.

Cost = a s**t load, by my calculation the equivalent of US$89,000. Oh how I love UK car prices. How much would that vehicle be in the US?

We got our UK 3.0d SE a couple of weeks ago, you'll love it. And yeah, UK prices suck, ours was £53k ($106,000)

Some pictures of ours can be seen here; http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e70-forum/...uk-photos.html

Let us know when it arrives!

Yes, seen those already - looks excellent. Impressed at your DVD install.

Is that sapphire black, hows the paint finish - i.e orange peel effect?

£53k JEEZ! How did you manage that, adaptive drive / active steering maybe??

Thanks

Black - looks very nice. We used to have a non-metallic black E60 5 series, the sapphire black is a much better finish.

Options we went for are;
Dyamic Pack
Media pack
Xenons
Comfort seats
3rd Row seating
Front seat heating
Steering wheel heating
Running boards
Floor mats
Graduated tinted windscreen
Dimming/folding electric mirrors
Sun protection glazing
DAB tuner
USB Audio Interface
Logic7 Sound system
GPS Tracker
...and that stuff they put on the leather and paint to help protect it, whatever it's called!

I would say that it is really rather easy to get to £53k - A fully specified (every option) 3.0d is £61k list.

How do you people do it? That's $120 US for a loaded 3.0?? I paid $80 (tax inclusive) for a loaded (really loaded) 4.8i!

Are you all paid twice as much as us?

The poor folks in the UK have to pay stratospheric prices for BMWs due to all the taxes and import fees.

We in the US get BMWs for chump change, and BMW continues to lose profit margins here due to the weakening USD. BMW ought to just give us fewer standard features and charge us a bit more.
