Playstation 2 install

Has anyone looked at a install of the Playstation 2 with the Rear entertainment system, or as a aftermarket install? Since this also plays audio and DVDs, as well as games, it could replace the DVD player altogether and would most likely fit in the same slot. I am not sure how much space would also be available for to add a 12v converter, but I would think there are a number of solutions for this as well.

The PS2 (even the newest version (the slim one) is larger than the space in the console the OEM DVD player occupies so it would have to be put elsewhere. I think a Wii might fit, but then you would have to figure how to mount the sensor bar in a way that it would be effective at very close range, which might not be possible. The Wii is also not a DVD player, so that might not work for you anyway. The Invision type dual setups in the headrests seem to be the best option, especially if you have more than 1 child.

Well......this is a good point. The Wii is 8.5"x6"x2" and you can use the classic controllers. Any idea on how big the slot is below the DVD player? There is also a DC converter for the Wii.

The slot is far too small for any game system.
You can hook up your PS2 or 3 or wii to the a/v inputs, but the system will have to sit on the floor.

Or another option which I will probably do my self. The new PSP is coming out in October 07. This will have an AV out (not like the older version) so you can plug it into the AV input of your entertainment system. Just one wire to plug in, no need for power, at least for a few hours and pretty portable. It's an extra $199.00 but convenient.

Actually I think it's going to be $169.00.

You can't use the classic controllers for the Wii games if I recall correctly (I know you can't use them for gamecube games). I think the classic controllers are for the games you download (the old 64 or Super NES, etc. titles) off the online store.

Thanks for the Shot Out to INViSiON! And I have modded my Nintendo Wii to play DVD's. If you need info on that I can help you with it as well. I have an Xbox 360 elite runing HDMI on my Sharp 46D92U in 1080p. And all games and hd-movies look ridiculous. I also have a LG Tri-Disc DVD so I can play blu-Ray as well. It looks pretty sweet as well. I think PS3 looks like crap and Xbox is def the shot for future gaming just wait for 2 titles Bioshock and Prototype.
