Help! Soaked X5

This gagdet where you press unlock long enough for the windows and moonroof to open was fun until last night. Something must have pressed against the remote and the windows and roof opened during a rainstorm... the car is now soaked. We dried most of it with towels but the carpet is still soaked (the leather still has a damp feeling to it too). What should we do ? My wife wants to open the heating to the max to help everything dry...what do you think?

Soak up as much as possible with paper towels, keep the windows down (while it isn't raining). Having the heat on isn't going to do much for the car overall IMO.

If you have a small hand held vacuum use that to try to suck up the water in the nooks and crannies, you don't want mold.

shop vacs are inexpensive, and will pull out as much water as possible. Then use fans to keeps the air circulating.

So ALL your windows were open during the storm..... Geezz!! For all times to have this happen!

The questions I have are as follows...

Where do you keep your remote that the button could have been pressed for that long. That is a long time to have the button pressed. You have to be near the vehicle too.

I am wondering if the vehicle computer had a problem and opened the windows in error.

X5 Guy---> In your Options you have listed "840 Increased Top Speed..." as an option. Were all dealers in the US supposed to offer this? Whats the top speed on the vehicle if not added. Just curious because I know that wasn't an option that was told to me when I ordered my car. Whats the cost for that option?

turn on your AC in the car, on high... it will help to remove the moisture.... might take awhile, but might help if you close all the windows and let it just run....

Bimmers are usually limited to 128-130mph, the limiter is upped to 150/155mph.

This is an option that is included with the 20" tires only. The price was rolled in with the upgraded tire package.
