This July BMW Group vehicle sales totaled 28,364 units which was a 20.1% increase over the 23,611 units sold last July. The YTD sales total of 192,702 units for the first 7 months of 2007 was up 6.5% from the 180,857 vehicles sold during the same period of 2006. The July sales result is based primarily on sales increases for the 3, 5, and X3 Series.
Sales of the X Series increased 14.9% this month and car sales were also up 22.8% when compared to last July.
Sales of the BMW brand were up 21.0% this month when measured against last July.
Mercedes Benz sales of 18,586 units in July represents a 13.9% decrease when compared to the total of 21,591 sold last July. YTD 2007 sales for MB are up a mere 0.2% over the same 7 months of 2006. MB trucks are up 12.4% YTD when compared to the first 7 months of last year. This improvement in MB truck sales is due to sales of the GL Class which is up 87.7% during 2007.
Lexus sales totaled 27,141 units this July, up only 0.7% over the 26,959 units sold last July. YTD sales for the 7 months of 2007 are also up 5.4% with a total of 187,343 units sold.
