help: X5, 4.6, bat lights, other lights on, died @ off ramp
On my way to work, noticed the red battery light on, other warning lights started to come on with the "ding" sound and then "transmission failure". Got off at the off ramp and my x5 will not drive. Had to get it towed to the local dealer. They're saying the alternator/battery need to be replaced. I just replaced the battery ~4 months ago. The quote is $1,432!!! For an alterntor? Am I being taken? Please help. Thanks.
