One month for car to arrive after it's finished with production?

I was under the impression that the car usually arrives within a week of finishing production depending on proximity to the plant.

I am in NC, reasonably close to the plant and was told by the 1800 number that the car was finished and waiting for transport.

The live person at the 1800 number said it was undergoing final assembly check and that I should expect it within a month. (I'd assume they have more accurate info than the automated system?)

Are they holding onto the 2008's until more 07's are sold? Mine is a sold order so I wouldn't think 07's on the lot would affect it.

Anyone planning on taking delivery of their 08 in the next week or so?

I was told my 08 completed production on 10/3 and is awaiting transport.

Rep told me to contact the dealer for more info as once its scheduled for transport they no longer track it.

I would expect they want to move these out and see no reason why they would want to hold it?

That's what I would figure too, I was hoping to get it by the 12th or so since my dealer is only a few hours away from the factory.

I'm curious too. My new 07 3.0 (replacing my Feb 07 production that will be purchased back by BMW) finished production on September 3rd. It has been in a "Transporting to the port of exit" since then. My CA said today that it should be another 10 days. Are the trains really that slow from SC to CA?
