Now that we have everything in front of us...NEGOTIATION TIME

Okay, what we've been waiting for is all in front of us...

Now how much do you think we can negotiate off MSRP in terms of preordering. How much is invoice? a 3.0 SI with premium, tech, ipod, and running boards should be able to fetch 2500 off MSRP right?

I got it for $1,200 over invoice with preordering from the dealer earlier this year. If you call up enough dealers, one of them should be able to at least match that. Build your car at www.edmunds.com and find out the invoice price. The dealers usually get money back from BMWUSA on top of whatever you're paying over invoice.

my dealer contacted me this week to see if I was ready to order the 08...

I told him I would within the next few weeks... (I'm actually waiting for official auto-tailgate option in Nov and don't want to order till I have guarrantee)

I am still being offered $2k off MSRP w/my options and w/the trade-in number I'm asking for...

so far so good...

Can you guys please quote in terms of MSRP, because invoice is often inflated or not right since it's never published "officially."

I understand 4.8i have more of a window off $off...but anyone with 3.0is speak up... (what should be my asking range?)

And what bargaining tricks should I use?

I think you would be lucky.

I feel that unless you are 'Net shopping, your local or, even regional
market in your "southeast" will vary considerably from what any
poster can toss up here to rant or, to boast about.

If I wanted to chase an '08 E70, I have a few choices:
-local: one dlr, Fletcher BMW in Asheville, NC area.
-1 1/2 hrs away: Century BMW in Spartanburg,SC
-Net shopping to see whom could do what, but
I would have to go get it, and would have little
relationship with my "local stlr", if that mattered.

Not trying to arm wrestle, but a metro area with 4 dlrs
will vary considerably from a one pop stand deal in
a less "urban"/populated mkt.

If you are seriously looking for "bargaining tricks", you
may need a site with a different slant, imo.
GL,mD

Edit, if they keep moving out the plant's door and/or
sltrs's floor, pricing is what any local mkt will bear;
if they start plugging up stlr's driveways, and 5 buck
gas looms next year, I suspect many will get a better
deal then. My 25Cts is up...
