Why is mesh air intake grey or black?

Some I see are grey, some are black... why would they be different? I just ordered mine and am curious to know which I'm going to get.

I beleive the non-sport models have black mesh while sport has titanium (grey) colored mesh.

I understand that only the top mesh under the kidney grilles is titanium and not the larger mesh below. Is this correct?

Both mesh grilles are silver... at least they are on my X5.

no sport



with sport (titanium grille standard on all 4.8i)
