Before we bought our 2010, we came up with some guidelines for a used or CPO purchase:
1.) No older than 3 model years from current (so 2008 or newer) 2.) No more than 30,000 miles (looking for 10,000 miles/yr or less.) 3.) 50,000 miles or more was automatically excluded 4.) 3rd row a must have 5.) No light colored interiors 6.) Most remaining options were "desires" not deal breakers. So, given that, none of these would fit the bill. #2 and #4 would not even be considered (miles over 50,000.) If we had decided on a vehicle older than 2008, only #3 would be a consideration for me since it lists 3rd row seat (the only non-negotiable item for the wife.) It also seems to be the best optioned of the bunch. I'm not positive, but haven't the 2007 4.8's been somewhat of a reliability problem?

Take option 3 or 4 and work them on pricing. Low ball each of those and see who is more willing to work with you on pricing. Both those are approach 4 years old and will start really depreciating. You can figure there is at least 5-7 thousand mark up....more likely more.

Hey,
I'm most likely will go with #3, if i can get a good price. This will be 1st X5, since I all ready have 03 325i. What would be the recommend starting price to start off. Can you give me some pointers? Do you think he can give me 35 or so out the door, or is that pushing it. Reason: 2nd baby on the way due Sept 23rd. Thanks Nilam |
