non anchored down and moving around...doesn't sound like a good plan. Not to mention the need for jacking equipment or the whole thing is useless.

If there is enough space then I'm sure we can solve the fixing problems and add a jack etc.

Do you guys know if I can slap a donut spare on the E70 and drive it safely for a few miles to the nearest tire shop. I know this depletes the purpose of having RFT but this might be a better chance of saving and repairing the tire if I replace it after a puncture.

Help me out here....... This is an E-70 forum correct? Don't you folks have a warranty and BMW Assist as well, which is roadside assistance—just push the button in the car, and you’re in contact with their emergency staff. None of this is even needed. Enjoy your ride and forget about this spare tire, jack nonsense. It's a waste of time IMHO.

That's all good but not in this lifetime. Have you used BMW assist before and called roadside assistance? Last time I tried, it took them 2.5 hours to send somebody out. And this is in L.A. where there are tow trucks all over the place. If you try and have them get a spare tire for you, add another hour to the response time.

Just merely trying to find an alternative to saving my RFT by replacing them right away after a puncture. I don't think that's asking for too much.

Yes we have used it as well as MBZ roadside service with good success. But then I guess that's why we have more than one tow service.

Not trying to hurt anyone feelings here, and of course it's not asking for too much to be prepared it just seems a waste to have a service and you can't use it for the purpose intended LA or not.

Understood. I hate to make a statement that BMW roadside assistance is worthless, much more for MBZ. But from my experience here in L.A. they suck. It probably depends on where you live and the towing company that BMW and MBZ are contracted with. Same reason that I'm still a paying member of AAA.
