$2,500 rebate in Canada to account for US pricing
My dealer just told me that they announced today a $2,500 rebate in Canada to people who bought the 2008 X5 (and others?) and paid cash to try to account for the difference in US pricing (I think a 4.8 in the US is cheaper than a 3.0 in Canada). Also if you financed, they reduced the lease rate (to 5.9% I think).

Big frickin' deal! Canadians are still getting ripped off big time. The X5 4.8is starts at US$54,500 while the same vehicle in Canada starts at CD$73,500.
Let me do the math...that's $19,000 difference!!! Try to justify that when the US and CD dollar is on par.

^ well I was going to say good for them (honestly) but if that's your attitude about it...
![]() BTW, you're not the only ones being "ripped off" in the world. |

The price diff is outrageous. Easy 20G diff when you price them out with options. Plus, if you live in Ontario, don't forget about the 14% tax.
