Anyone have the engine light come on before?

Hi guys, had my X's engine light come on today after I drove about 2 miles down the road. This is the first time I've had problems with my X5 enginewise. It was fine yesterday (except for Monday when it wouldn't go past the Accept screen on iDrive), all I did was park it over night. I knew something was wrong after it made a late shift and made the car plunge backward until it caught. I got an appointment tommorow with the service department. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
