Choices?
I realise that views might swing in one direction in here, but I still wanted to hear what you guys thi
I need a new work car, and as I will be doing more mileage soon, I thought about an X5, probably the twin turbo. Have had an extended test drive of the standard 3.0, and it seems pretty quick for a big vehicle. On the other hand, I thought about a new V8 M3 as well - now we are talking around 16 to 20 mpg here, and performance in a different league. Currently, we have a new Audi TT 3.2 DSG in the household - it drives well, is pertty quick, and is only doing around 23mpg as well ![]() So, I'm wondering do I go with practicality, a fair degree of performance, and probably less depreciation in the X5, or go with an out and out road burner in the M3, bearing in mind that I already have one reasonably quick petrol car in the TT. I have always fancied an M car, and would like to try it. The M3 would range from €10k to €20k more expensive than the X, depending on which way I spec it.......... Just wondering what you guys think? ![]() I'm worried that big engined high performance cars will be very much out of favour soon, whereas a semi-sensible big diesel may be a safer bet depreciation wise down the line....... Thoughts?
