just spoken to the dealer and they are a but hazey on the info for the 3.0d but they are advising me that any UK x5 produced after week 40 will include the EfficientDynamics, this will reduce the standard 3.0d to band F from Band G ....

bonus!!

He will call me back later on today to confirm but from what i have researched this will lower the emission figure to 214g/km - a drop of 17g/km compared to the previous model.

i really think this will have a serious impact on the residuals of the E70 in the UK with the banding, from what ive gathered the band G cars will as of next year have to pay £400.00 per year road tax! and thats due to go up again after that... but at the end of the day the government here are just going to make driving for the elite! it dosent stop them from crusing around in there 4litre pertrol Jags! ...do as we say not as we do!

marcx5 when is your due for production?

Yes, same for the SD also.

Not to worried about the congestion charge as I live tup North but im glad of the road tax savings. I guess it won't change peoples perceptions of vehicles like this even though your emmisions are the same if not lower than an average family saloon

Im up north too (well the midlands) but it just makes me feel a lil bit beter about buying a 3.0 4x4 for myself .... it was one of things that would really be bugging me!!

i can see how if i owned a pre october model i would be getting pretty pissed at BMW !

EXACTLY HOW I FEEL. Totally Pi**ed Off with BMW to the point that I'm thinking about selling up - I'm either going to be held to ransom by a hypocritical government, or loose thousands in depreciation. I'm in a completely Loose/Loose situation and I'm of the opinion that BMW lied to me during their sales pitch. They must have known that the ED was due for production and the savings that this would have presented to future owners.

I kind of wish my car would develop a serious fault so that I can send it back!!

After calling then visiting the dealer i spotted the effeciency card that was being displayed for the showroom vehicle was still showing 231g CO2 and i mentioned it to the sales guy who actually knew nothing about it, he then mentioned it to another guy who proceeded to check this on his computer, between them they found that there was a memo issued about the week 40 build to all the dealerships quite some time ago about the ED being rolled out accross the range..they asked me if i wanted a job....i asked him to knock £95 off the price of my car as they were charging me for taxing the car at £300 when it should be £205 for the Road Fund Licence.... done..another victory !

Same for me with my dealer. He had it down as £300 and I told him its only £205 because of ED and the new ratings.
