RIMS 3.0 vs 4.8

Question - anyone know whether you can take a rim from a 3.0 and put it on a 4.8 X5? I am looking for winter rims and am debating this option in 18's or 19's?

Some rims from the 3.0 will work, some won't. The reason is that the brake calipers are larger on the 4.8 and some rims won't fit over them. If you post the style # of the wheels, or post a picture, we can tell you if they will work on the 4.8.

Style 212 - refer here for pic...http://zoouz.free.fr/e70_wh.htm seems to have the same offset as the 19" Y spoke (211)

anyone know if the 18" style 210's off of a 3.0 will properly fit a 4.8i with sport package?

I'm buying the 18" 209's with snow runflats for my 4.8i with sports package. It looks like the 18" 210's are exactly the same size.
