how do you get rid of tires/wheels? will dealer take them??

i have a full set of 17" wheels (original BMW) with mounted tires on them (michelin pilot alpin). all is in great condition, but since i'm getting a 2008 x5, i need a new set of 18" wheels/tires and not sure how to get rid of my old set.

does anyone have any suggestions? will my dealer take them? should I just toss them at the dump... which seems like such a waste.

anyone want them?

marcx5, if you are serious, i will take them and pay for all shipping. However, you really should eBay them, or list in the Roundel classifieds, as well as on this forum.

Roundel is the official publication of the BMW Car Club of America. See the following link http://www.bmwcca.org/classifieds BTW, the BMW CCA is an excellent club, and can save members $500 to $1,500 on new BMW vehicle purchases. I happen to think Roundel is one of the best make-specific mags around.

With regards to eBay, here is a current link for you to look at. I hope it is alright to show an eBay link, if not I will remove ASAP. I have nothing to do with this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-BM...QQcmdZViewItem

I would guess a fair price to be several hundred dollars, depending on the condition of both wheels and tires. Then deduct your eBay and PayPal fees.

Stick them on craigs list or in Roundel magazine - there were a few sets of 17's winter packages on Craigs Boston for about 350.

thanks for the advice. i think i will put them on craigslist. ld757 said he sold his for $1000... which sounds like a pretty fair deal. i'm even willing to do a bit better....

these are fully mounted, balanced, and ready to go...
