annual inspection?

I know a few states don't require it but it is req'd here. Such a pain in the a$$ for my current vehicle. I have to walk back after dropping it off at the gas station right now and of course walk there to pick it up. Was wondering/planning ahead... what do you do for your bimmers? Is it 'covered' at the dealer or do you bring it to any gas station for $35? The latter would seem odd... I wouldn't trust any ole place with it. The dealer do it for $35 too?

my trucks go to the inspection stations. my vette i take to the dealer. i will more than likely take the X to the dealer also. i would think your dealer can do a state inspection. the price is set by the state around here.

I know in NJ new cars get inspection stickers for 4 years or so from the dealer. I bought mine in NJ put live in NY so I paid $10 (it WAS $35 last time ) Saturday at a local mechanic. Not sure if you buy and live in NY what the deal is.

Can't you wait for it? It doesn't take very long at all.

The actual process doesn't take long... it's the time it takes for them to get to your car that day. If I could bring it over during lunch that would be ideal but fat chance. And btw, I really don't trust shops anymore. They scratched my door a bit at Mavis Tire but I didn't say anything because all I'd get is an I'm sorry from a peon mechanic or maybe not even that much. Ever happen to anyone? What could they do for you if it happened?
