Talking 20 days from order to delivery ... not bad!

Hi all,

I placed my order for my new 2008 X5 3.0 with tech, premium, comfort, big audio, power hatch on November 9th and am going to pick it up at my dealer in Scottsdale this afternoon (Nov 29th) Here's to hoping they didn't have any leftover parts in the assembly box when it shipped!

That was fast!

Mike

Copy of your checklist?

Drod,

If you could find it in your heart to send me a copy of your checklist
that would be awesome. I'm leaving for the dealer in about 45 min...

No pressure!!

Thanks, Mike

and don't forget the obvious!!

walk around the entire length of the vehicle in search of scratches, dents, cracks, etc...

have them fix these items prior to pickup....otherwise it's on you!!

That's about right. I had did a referral for a friend, and my sales rep pushed their order thru in 2 weeks. They ordered on Nov.3 and delivered on the 17th.

Here is the reality of the checklists...

I had mine prepared 3+ years ago for pickup of then new 2005 Ody. The checklist was like 2-pages long... When I went for the pickup, the excitment of the new car took over and I did not use it

The bottom line - the only thing you really need to worry about at the time of delivery is scratches and damages (both external and internal). Those are the only things "disputable". Everything else is covered by the warranty anyway.

Thanks All!

Hi all,

Picked up the new X5 and officially drove of the lot at 7:00 pm.

The vehicle was in almost perfect condition.. no scratches or dings. One very minor paint flaw on the hood which they will correct. Checked the alignment on the test drive, once again perfect. The list came in handy and the orientation was top notch at North Scottsdale BMW. Got the home link for the garage door working in a flash and for the most part, with the exception of nav functions the I-drive is pretty straight forward. The Ipod integration is really well done and the bluetooth works quite well.

BTW, I officially agree, the back up camera really sucks and stays on WAY too long after shifting to drive but everything else seems to work as advertised. Will give a more thorough drive this weekend.

Once again, thanks to all for the insight I gathered on this site.

Yep... digging it!

Mike
