Broken Plastic Piece in Oil Housing

Hi,

I was performing an oil change on my 2008 BMW X5 4.8i. When taking off the oil filter, I noticed a plastic piece that came off with it. Looks like I broke an important piece.

I tried searching the forums and search on google. I can't seem to figure out what it is and if it's replaceable. I attached a picture of the broken piece.

Any help would be great. Hopefully I don't need to buy a new oil housing

I think I found the part. It's called a supporting dome. It's #2 in the picture which I attached.

Odd that I couldn't take it out by hand. Do you think I need to twist it? Or pull really hard? I don't want to break anything more than it is.

Buy the new part first and see how it attaches.

If that is the peace, it looks like the "pipe" to help in routing oil through filter.
I would guess that with it broken the oil does not circulate around the filter correctly.

Do see others input as well.
