Opening Auto Tailgate With Key Fob?

Anybody have any problems doing this? For some reason, mine isn't working with the key fob. Am I missing something? Could there be some sort of childproofing that I'm not aware of? The car locks and unlocks great, but the tailgate doesn't. I've pressed it and held it down, neither do anything. However, when I hold the button down, the alarm goes off...so the button obviously works.

Thanks is advance for your comments!

I had the same problem while test driving a X5 last weekend. What was I doing wrong?

On mine, if I hold it down for a second or two, it opens. If I hold it down too long, the alarm goes off.

Suggest that you check that your bottom tailgate is completely shut -- shove it with a hand on left side and the other hand on right side.
