Rear Entertainment System

Can the rear entertainment system be removed from the car?

Yes, there's an X5 with it, and I don't want it. Checking to see if the dealer could remove it. Thanks

it would likely cost more than the option to remove it

it really is a bad design....... not that I care, as the DVD I have in my FX45 I've really only used once on a drive up to Montreal, but if I had kids or got any real use out of it, I'd get some aftermarkets in the headrests over that terrible factory option.

I can tell you this, if you have any little ones you may want to consider the Invision system. I have the factory option and my little one gets sick everytime she watches it. I think because the monitor is too low and the motion of the vehicle makes for car sickness. Since the Invision is Horizon mounted in the headrests they will be less likely to be sick.

Probably a best bet to ask the dealer. I don't believe the rear-ent system is a dealer installed option though which makes me think it would take a little work for you to remove it yourself.

Exactly, screen's, in any environment (car, house, theatre...) should be eye level, not too high or too low. They're WAY too low in this design, besides the ugliness and awkwardness when they're folded down.

Headrest should pretty much be perfect height for the most part...
