Seat belt reminder time shortened

OK... I just had my software updated and discovered something odd.

Before Update... I would drive to work, remove seat belt, get proxy card out of pocket, and open gate. I would get way down the lot and then the seat belt reminder would kick in.

Now.... The seat belt reminder kicks in almost immediately!

I really liked the delayed time.

Bummer about the seat belt. How is the software upgrade working out?
Which version is it now?

always wear your seatbelt :p

Although I agree the system is oversensitive when my laptop is on the pass seat.

I am about to park so there is no need for the belt... )

It is the newest version available in December. Other than the seat belt time.. all is nice.
I enjoy the split view for the area and camera notice while backing.

hey, i have a dumb question...

i also have the latest Dec firmware version...and i noticed i can't manually turn off the PDC after parking... it only turns off automatically when i drive off... a BMW mechanic said this was normal...

i beg to differ....others have said their X5s allow them to manually shut it on and off just by pushing the PDC button on the dash..

can you confirm with your model??

PS. I plan on leaving it at the dealer anyway since they did offer to have someone look at it and examine this further..

i was just curious if you had the same issue...

Please someone find a hack to get rid of the chimes. They drive me crazy. Everytime I start the car its "dinging" at me for the belt temperature, whatever.

No more dinging!

Mine was built a week or so later after drod's, and I can push the "PDC" button right after shifting from R into D, and it will turn off the screen and return back to whatever it was at before. The button stays lit while the camera/pdc are on, and goes off when I press it (as long as car is not in the reverse) OR when I drive off.

You are definetely having some electronic problems, they should fix it for you. Have them compare to another car.
