Need help with options on a 2008 4.8 need opinions asap

I finally pulled the trigger yesterday on a 2008 X5 4.8 just put down a deposit but had a few questions about options that are a must. Color is either going to be titanium silver with black or space gray with black with walnut trim. So far I have ordered and have until next week to change my mind on options 1) Premium sound its a must for me since I love hearing good quality sound and I cant go without a 6 disc changer in the glovebox, 2) Navigation which is a must for me when trying to get anywhere I considered the technology package but wasnt to impressed with the rear view camera especially in the dark and the pdc just was annoying with the beeps, 3) Comfort seats I loved how they felt and all the different arrangements you can adjust they just felt heavenly on my back, 4) Ipod/USB port a must also for stored music on my ipod/ pioneer inno, 5) Heated front seats in Ohio thats a must I considered the cold weather package but I dont ski and it doesnt include rear heated seats the heated steering wheel was nice but didnt get that warm to the point of noticing it, 6) Climate pkg rear def worth it so people in the back can have their own controls especially good in the summer for when I take my 2 dogs anywhere, and the two major packages I am debating on 7) Premium package I am still 50/50 on this since I could just get BMW assist separate for $750 with bluetooth for 4 years and save $1000 since Nevada leather is standard on the 4.8, lumbar is standard with the comfort seats I am getting, I will have navigation so dont need the mirror compass, so the real question is the Garage Door Opener, Ambient Light Pkg, Inside Automatic Day/Night Mirrors, and O/S Automatic Day/Night Mirrors worth $1000? also the biggest question is 7) Should I get the sport package with 19's I love how it looks just dont know how practical the performance tires will be in the snow in Ohio unless I buy separate rims/ winter tires to use which is a hassle to switch. I am especially concerned since I already have a 04 330ci with the sports package with 18 inch ps2 tires that cant move in the snow.

1) get it
2)ok, then just get navi
3) get them
4) get 6FL
5) get cold weather package-you'll never see the ski bag. You musn't have felt the htd wheel on full power.
6) get the rear climate package if you have rear seat guests often. If you don't get it, you can adujst hot/cold, but not fan speed or specific temp.
7) get prem package
7.5) as stated before, you will be perfectly fine with all-seasons in the snow. If you want to buy another pair of rims and tires get it, but if not, pass it up.

(it would also help if you returned opinion, on this thread and the others, so we can help you).

The 19s on the sport package are all seasons. The 20s come with the performance tires. I got the sports with the 19s but haven't driven in any snow yet.

as far as the sports package goes and the tires along with it.. they are awesome xdrive and dtc together provide enough control and traction
the x5 just plows throught the snow no problem at all

we had about 20 cms of snow on our cul de sac and the x5 had no troubles

Must get HUD (heads up display) if you are getting navigation. At first I wasn't too sure about the option but after two road trips and 2500 miles in three weeks it is a must with navi. It is so convienent to see where you are going without taking your eyes off the road. You don't need that voice telling when and where to turn. I would also get the premium package, all those little features do make the X more complete.

I say skip the premium sound.. The price you pay aftermarket for much better stuff is much less. Also, why CD changer? Load everything into itunes and be done with CD's. Get the premium package. It's good for resale and it's well worth the price. It's going to be ~70K msrp car so why skimp on a couple grand. PDC and technology package is also a must IMO. It's cheap insurance against you pulling a bonehead backup and scratching or destroying a bumper or worst yet hitting somebody.

I agree with all your points. But to emphasize...
5) the steering wheel heater is a MUST for cold weather climates. It's awesome.

Also, PDC is VERY handy. The beeping is too loud, but I use it all the time, particularly in tight downtown parking garages!

Heated steering wheel--GET IT. It makes quite a difference.

You must also get the premium package. The garage door opener is always convenient, and I would pay a lot for it...

Good choice not getting the tech, though, because I'm sick of the PDC beep and will probably go to the dealer to get it disabled.
