Solution for 6th generation IPOD and 6FL USB Option

Howdy to all IPOD 6th generation (nano, classic etc.) users in combination with the 6FL USB option. There is a solution for the hung up" and "not charging problem" available right now.

Normally, BMw is selling the Y-Adapter cable with P/N 61120440645
to match with the X5 E70, this is the cable causing the problems !!!

There is new cable available now with P/N 61120440796 working absolutly
perfect with my IPOD classic 80GB and the E70 USB option

So you should shop for the new cable if you have trouble with your IPOD.

Mery Xmas and a happy new year to all !!!

So long

Christian

Is this new cable a BMW part # or is it an Apple Part #? If the BMW cable does not work, do you think we can return our original cable under warranty and get the cable that works?

itīs a BMW P/N, you may try to exchange your old cable, but itīs up to the dealer if he will do that deal...

I'll have to get the new cable .. however my SendStation PocketDock connector works fine and charges my 160gb 6th gen ipod so I'll use that for now.

I called Murray Motors in Denver and they said they would replace it for me under warranty.

Dealer sent the replacement 6FL USB cable Part# 61120440796. It seems to work! It will switch off the IPOD once you have left the car after about 60 seconds.
