Suspension Noise (rear I think)

I have searched through the threads and have not found this particular issue that I seem to have.

When going over rough roads, I hear what sounds like an intertube being pinged, kind of a hollow boing sound. x5 3.0 is about 3 months old with 3000 miles and with 3rd row seats.

Any thoughts before I head up to the dealer?

Thanks

Same problem, at higher speeds, front suspension, rough roads. Haven't taken it to the dealer yet.

Sounds like it could do with the anti-roll bar.

Hi
I experience as simular sound from my new E70 (275 tyres front & 315 on rear) - on roads between 20 & 60 miles per hour I can hear what I describe as a hollow roar from the front. I have noticed different road surface will make a slight difference but its alway in the background.
I took it to the dealer last week who checked the car over and found no fault with bearings etc..etc.. they also test drove another E70 they had and it was making exactly the same noise - so its obviously common to all E70 with larger tyres... I would be interested to know if anyone gets the noise on the standard tyre versions ???

hollow noise...

got the same hollow noise on my 08 standard tires... 20-60mph sounds about right. Sounds like the road bumps are making some sort of vibration in the tire. Maybe its the run flat tires...

Knocking noise fixed...

Went to dealer on the 3rd... They kept it over night... The problem was the locking mechanism on the rear hatch, it was loose. They replaced it. No more noise--- not one little peep, nothing. Noise found and fixed. Hope this helps anybody with the same problem... As far as the noise 20-60mph... Dealer says it may be the tires since there run flat... I'm going back next week for a second opinion... 2008 4.8i black saphire
