Planning to get a X5 3.0 in Orange County, California

I am planning the to purchase a X5 3.0 with the following in OC. There are a few dealers in my area. Would readers in this area recommend a dealership over others? I am looking to get the following:

Premium Package
Rear Climate Package
Tech Package
3rd row seat
Running boards
iPod/USB

Others have suggested me to use website or broker to shop for the car. Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks.

That's how I got my $3625 off MSRP on my 3.0si... I used cars.com or one of those sites and submitted price quote requests. 4 dealerships contacted me back and I basically got them to give me their lowest price, each time telling them what my current lowest offer was. The benefit is that they know you have invoice pricing already and don't play games - they know the best price wins. I got one place willing to go only $200 below another and that's when I knew it was about right. They also worked pretty hard to get me saddle brown at the time where others didn't so I said let's make a deal. We had only about 20 mins of face-to-face time until delivery day.

This was also a good resource: http://www.carbuyingtips.com/ (use the spreadsheet for invoice pricing vs. MSRP) and you can deal easier..

After viewing this website and another forum for upwards of 6 months, I finally decided to get into another BMW lease. My 3 yr lease on a 2005 X3 ends in April, and in December I began emailing a number of dealerships in San Diego and Orange County. After a few back and forth emails, and an equal number of decent deals, I finally went with Shelly BMW up in Buena Park. Decided on them because I didn't have to go through a lot of haggling with them, and they were completely willing to lock in the OLP rate available back in December, order the car exactly to specs, AND (here's what sealed the deal), if the car was delivered too early, they were willing to hang on to the car in their lot until i was ready to take delivery end of March. No dealership in S.D. was willing to keep the car in their inventory until I was ready for delivery. I just found out that the X5 is about to arrive at Shelly, but I'll be picking it up after 3/15. Kills me to wait but I can barely justify turning in the X3 a couple weeks before the lease ends on 4/15. The OLP on the new lease was locked in for 90 days, so I've got to take delvery before April.

My X5 3.0 is spec'd as follows: Alpine White, Saddle Brown Interior, Dark Bamboo trim, Prem, Tech, Ipod Adapter, Comfort Access, Running Boards. The deal was for 750 over invoice, plus I've got to pay 625 Acquisition Fee, 180 Training, and 380 MACO. Based on the info on these forums, the deal was quite reasonable for the area.

Shelly BMW has been great so far, and I've got some colleagues up in L.A. who have also purchased from Shelly. I'd stay away from Crevier. Although their deals were ok, I found them aggravating. Irvine was ok to deal with as well, but their internet department's response time leaves much to be desired.

Good luck!
