Picking my X5 4.8 up at 4pm today last minute check list.

After all the debating and suggestions/feedback I decided to go ahead with my purchase of my 08 4.8 in silver/black/walnut with premium pack, premium sound, Navigation, sport pack with 19's I wish I would have got the 20's but didnt cause of the snow we get in Ohio, cold weather pack, rear climate pack, and usb/i-pod adapter. Is there anything in particular I should go over during the final inspection before driving off? or any areas I should really spend some extra time with my service adviser on like i-drive? custom settings like day time running lights etc? I just didnt want to overlook anything before driving off the lot like I am sure I did with my 330ci because I was so excited. I notified my insurance company, and also my bank. I will def post pictures after I pick her up at 4pm and thanks again for all the feedback/info I got from this site.

I had a whole checklist with me, based on the one on X5world, and added more items. Did not even look at it.
iDrive. Get a quick review but, unless you've seen it before, it's going to be very confusing and you will need some quiet time alone with it.
Bluetooth. My biggest hassle was getting bluetooth operational and this was with phones that BMW said were supported. They had to get a tech to come and set the phones up -- it's been fine ever since.
I would say that make sure that there are no marks or scratches.
Get them to give you a good once over of all features.

without even doing all the things that's on the "Jerry's list" the iDrive and the look around the car will take more than 2 hours.

Especially if you have a lot of the options, the car is so technologically advance, it will take a LOOOOng time. I spent three hours with my dealer when picking mine up.

I thought iDrive was easier to use than Acura's system in the MDX (which isn't touchscreen, contrary to what you might think). At least in iDrive you can see and scroll thru a menu........in the Acura you MUST use the voice recognition system, which requires you to go thru voice menus and more menus and push a button before you say anything.

In a friend's 528xi, it took me 10 min to set up her Bluetooth phone via iDrive. No owner's manual.

In my uncle's '08 Acura MDX, I sat in there for 45 min. It took me 25min to get one phone set up, and the remaining 20min trying and failing to set up his Phonebook. This was with the owner's manual in my lap, and a call to Hands Free Link's Customer Service.
