Got it!!! Now some questions...

Picked up our X5 today...the drive is great. Much more refined than our '01 X5 4.4...Feels more like my A8 than an SUV...More early reflections and pictures to come.

Now a couple of questions:
1) Really struggling with Homelink. Tried everything in the manual with my Sears garage door openers. Anybody else have problems that they solved in getting this programmed?

2) Nav system display. Any way to just have the moving map on the main screen without a programmed destination?

More to come...

Check this post that I made previously

That's how I got mine to work. It's not a Sears model though.

You should easily be able to get the map without a destination showing. Just select the type of map you want from the bottom of the Nav screen. If you have voice control, just say " Perspective".

homelink - finally got mine to sync by moving my transceiver a bit further away. Maybe 8 inches when it finally worked. You can also try keeping your mirror button down and click the transceiver a few times at varying distances.

Thanks!! Another question...

Thanks, all, for the ideas. Got the Homelink to work by putting the original garage transmitter right next to the mirror.

Just for fun, I put in a DVD to test the movie viewing (the Matrix, of course). Is there any way to get the DVD viewing area to be full screen (i.e., including the assistance window)?

The Premium Sound is really amazing. I was disappointed in the upgraded audio in the e53, but this time they got it right. Solid performance across the full spectrum.
