UK Market

Are X5 not selling out there in the UK, first there was the pre registered 3.0d SE well specked but 231g CO2 with zero miles that dealers were knocking out for c£42k.
Now I have ordered a 3.0sd SE three weeks ago supposedly for June / July delivery and find out today it will be here end of April having been pulled forward by BMW, I hope I have not ordered a pup is the market for X5’s is collapsing? Anyone out there got any information?
Also anyone in the UK already got a 3.0sd, I know one or two people have posted their cars, but what do you think of them, I currently have a 535d Sport and previously a E53 3.0d Sport, any info?

I have an SD having previously had a 535d...mine was delivered before Christmas. Very, very happy with it. Feel free to ask anything specific.

Your car may have been brought forward because there is a problem with M Sport production, that's just a guess.

On the subject of depreciation, I just don't think you can expet anything except heavy depreciation from new cars now. BMW is a volume manufacturer, stated aims are to grow volumes considerably so don't expect it to get better. Don't let it spoil your enjoyment of the X5 though! It's the same for all manufacturers. Having said that my 535d retained 63% of the price I paid for it new which I think is excellent over 3years (it was low mileage but that doesn't get you much credit come trade in).

I agree with Fredo, I to have a 3.0sd but the M Sport which I got in December. I have heard rumours of a 6 month waiting list but even my came in a month early. I would have never bought the car if I was worried about depreciation.

Depreciation is a way of life with X5 ownership. Budget for about £750 per month depreciation.

On A side note, 4x4 cars in the UK seem to have a stigma attached if you believe the press. And its clear the government don't like them. But every car advert I see these days is for a manufacturers new 4x4 model so the market must be there. Wether this helps or hinders x5 resale values is anyones guess

Just checked the AUC site...there are only two SD's on there...both Sports. Probably both ex-demonstrators...that's enouraging as it probably means dealers have sold their demonstrators.

The SD will definitely be the pick of the bunch if you are worried about depreciation.
