P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)

Does anyone know what this means?? Just checked my computer for a SES light and this was the message the computer spit out.

Anyone know how to fix?? Large project or small project? $ or $$$$??

Gas cap loose? If not that, then some vent line from the fuel system.

Which model? Is it an E70, or is this post in the wrong forum?

That error has positively absolutely nothing at all to do with the catalytic converter.

It mean that it has detected a leak in the system that prevents gasoline vapors from escaping from the fuel tank and fuel system. It typically does this by periodically applying a vacuum to the system and sensing if the vacuum declines too fast.

Most of the time it is no more than a leaky or loose hose/line somewhere, or as simple as a loose or poorly seated fuel tank cap.

Come to find out, my husband had just put gas in my X and somehow got the toggle line screwed in with cap. Who knew that they put sensors in those toggle lines????????????????
