Unhappy Qs about DVD changer malfunction & opening a front door panel

Hi, guys.
I’m having a problem with the DVD changer in my 2008 X5.
I was trying to play a different disk and it seems like… something's stuck in the changer.
Now it’s making weird sounds and all the lids on the changer are just flashing. (I can’t eject or load any CD .)
Has anyone experienced this kind of problem?? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks..

Exclamation

Ok..
I went to the dealership and they said the changer had to be ordered..
So I told them to order it..
And now... they're saying that the DVD changer is back ordered and they even don't how long it will take to get it.
A technician said that it will take at least a couple of months to get a new changer, and generally (additional) 6months to get my CDs back from factory. Because they can’t do a thing to the current changer; they said they can only replace parts but not open and fix them.
What the…

2008 X5 owners!! Be careful not to break the DVD changer in your X5, or you will need to say goodbye to all of your beloved CDs in the changer.

If they are going to replace the one you have tell them to give the CD changer back. RE-install it and who knows you may find a way to eject them or it may start working again. After all you still have to wait for the new one.

Don't know your mechanically inclined but i would find a way to get those CD's out.

i think i would call BS on the several months backorder. does this mean that the Spartanburg plant might run out and be subjected to the same backorder? that might hold up some production plans don't you think?

call a local stereo store, they might be able to offer some insight.

Thanks for ideas.
I'll ask them to re-install it and see whether it works again..
