X5 Automatic TailGate Open

I have a BMW X5 3.0si 2008 Model. When I ordered my car (back in last October), the final options list for the 2008 model wasn't released yet. For that reason, I didn't know that there is an option called "Automatic TailGate Open".

I saw that option on the website few days ago. It seems to be very useful. So, I would like to know if it will be possible for me to have that option add-on by the BMW dealer or any of the Garage knowing that the operation of the tailgate can be controlled by the iDrive (changing the angle of opening through the iDrive).

My car is now in Seattle, US. Thanks a lot for your help,

I highly doubt that this option can be added on. It is most definitely a factory only option.

This was talked about in another thread and the conclusion was that it is a factory option only.

I have no idea about: "any of the Garage knowing that the operation of the tailgate can be controlled by the iDrive (changing the angle of opening through the iDrive)"

Through iDrive you can limit how high the tailgate opens.
