% tints that come with the rear climate control package

Does anyone know the exact % tint for the rear windows and back windshield that come standard with the rear climate package in the 08 4.8i? I want to get the driver and passenger side windows tinted the same % but couldnt find this info anywhere.

You'll find varying answers, but for me about 20 to 30 %.
It is really light, I hardly saw it initially.

Cheers,

i think it's closer to 50... it's pretty light...

i'm doing the same in the next few weeks when the weather gets better...

i believe 30 is much darker than the factory tint...

any professional tinter should be able to match it... they can always temporarilly tape up samples to compare...

let us know if you have it done before i do..

Most aftermarket tints only come in 35%, 20% and 5%. Thirty five is what most people go with on the front windows I would think (I have it as well). Twenty % would be too much of a contrast and 5% is limo tint.

Front windows

If I'm doing 35% do I need to redo the rear windows? I have the rear factory tint. Also, do most folks tint the trunk + front windshields?

I have the rear climate control option on my X. I felt the tint was not enough for Bahrain in which is 90% hot all year around.

So I install the Pre-cut out Solar Gard window film clear on front wind screen at 84% heat resistance and 35% tint on the front driver and passenger side to match the rear climate option installed. To make it even better I installed the Rear Sun Shades for BMW X5 show on the X5.world >articles > X5>interior.

Also I installed 100% silver mirror tint with 95% resistance on both of the Panoramic roof as well. I’ll post picture this weekend. We are currently under sand storm condition for the next few days.

We were planning to tint our sun-roof and was advised that tinting silver would be the best option but the heat from the tint can cause the glass to crack.
