wiper blade replacement - how often

I know this is a difficult question but I have just over 20k KM on the car and my front blades are trashed .. now we get A LOT of rain in Ireland but I would have expected to get more that 20k KM worth of driving out of the blades... at least one full service interval.. this first service looks like it is going to be expensive!!

I usually replace mine in the spring regardless of mileage. The salt used on the roads during winter breaks them down.

I don't replace them by a 'time' if they go bad, I replace them. A million things can cause the rubber in a wiper to go bad, weather, use, road treatment in the winter....

Wiper inserts are one of the parts that should be covered by BMW. Along with brake pads and oil changes. I'm not sure if you have to wait for your annual service or if you can just call in and have them replace those right away, give them a call.

You are in the US; that is a BMWNA program, not applicable outside the US, unless a maintenance package is purchased at additional cost.

I have them changed yearly as part of BMW's free maintenence program. Just tell the SA they're worn and need replacment when I take it in for service. Yearly is about the right interval if you have much exposure to the elements (sun, salt, etc)
