A question for US 4.8 owners

Fuel in the UK is now only marginally below the eqivalent of $10 per gallon. If you were having to pony this up in the US would you still opt to purchase an E70 4.8?

I tihnk wouldn't buy a SUV at all if I had to pay $10/gal. I would wait for a diesel, perhaps.

No, I would have waited for the deisel. Although the engine we're getting is more performance oriented vs. consumption oriented.

I could try and rationalize and say my commute is only 13 miles each way, bla bla bal.....I'd still be driving a 4.8i.

if gas were $10 a gallon most of us would be sitting on the porch with a shotgun protecting our property from looters and rioters.

Rack It! A Fookin Classic!

SMS broke the code and spoke the dirty truth...

Not to say gas here in the States won't get to a sawbuck a gallon before
the decade is out...but, if it gets there quickly, it's time to grab your
azzes and hold on, imo.

Funny for sure, however, over here we just keep voting them in to government.

I would not mind paying $10 per gallon if I was paid in British pounds, had free medical and dental, and did not have to pay as much as we are paying for our kids' college education. Two US dollars per one British Pound pretty much level the playing field. We are already headed for $4 dollar per gallon of regular gas. I seriously doubt many members on this board having means and desire for an X5 looked at the mpg as a deal breaker.

If it was $10 a gallon, I'd be riding my bike a helluva lot more.

But like Clarkson said, he thinks its pretty cheap. There's mineral water that costs more.

No, it would DEFINITELY not have stopped me purchasing an E70 4.8.

$10/gallon would still still make my gas/petrol costs one of the most insignificant cost of living expenses that my family would have to deal with...
