questions on my new X5 3.0d
I just got delivery of my new titanium silver X5 3.0d. In some ways it feels very much like my previous X5 (E53) which I bought about 6 years ago but overall I must say that its a clear evolution over the previous model! I do have a couple of questions that I have so far not been able to get answers for: 1. On the E53, I could program the computer to ask for a passcode to unlock the ignition, I find no reference to this in the current model? Does this feature even exist? 2. In the previous model there was a storage compartment for sunglasses on the roof of the car which I found very handy, the current model does not have anything of the sort. Where would you store your sunglasses? 3. The gps voice is very loud, I read in the manual that you need to use the stereo volume knob to adjust it, is this correct? If so can I only do the adjustment when I hear the voice? 4. I tend to fold the mirrors whenever I park the car, is there any way of programming it so that it is done automatically whenever I turn off the ignition? I am surprised that this is not a feature! 5. I have the keyless entry feature and wanted to know what happens if you forget to lock the doors. Does it lock automatically if the key signal is too far away? I appreciate your help.

2. I keep my sunglasses on my visor. No compartment exists for it 3. Yes, when the voice is speaking, you need to turn the volume button then. That is the only time that the knob will adjust the GPS volume. 4. Cannot be set to do it automatically. Has to be the push of the button. 5. Does not lock the doors automatically when you walk away from the vehicle. I have not tried to look to see if this is a setting that can be set, but I'm just used to using the keyfob to lock the door. |

I believe it can be coded to fold when locking the car and/or holding the lock button for few secs, but in any way it can only be done by a dealer or someone with a coding s/w.
