Black Box recorder for cars?

Have anyone purchased this before? (also called Car DVR)

Amazon.com: Itronics ITB-70G Car Black Box Dash Camera Video and Audio Recorder with GPS Record: Electronics

Amazon.com: Smart Black Box Drive Recorder: Electronics

I want it to operate when the car is parked... (I go to NYC a lot, and many things have happened when the car is parked....) Maybe for that, not at 15 frames per sec but like 1 fps or even 0.2 fps....

I can find these from only Amazon.com... is there any other place to get this?

I'd looked at items like this before. As accident recorders and for contact with LEO.

Cannot comment on your low frame rate request (contact the company) but I'd caution that you should think about what you would/can do with the images. You have a picture of someone keying the car, or dinging the door. So? Now what? Good luck finding them.

In NYC it is more likely you would capture the window breaking and the thief reaching for the recorder before he rips it out and steals it....

Well, I guess I have not given much thoughts.... you are right... there is nothing I can do with the image after someone dings the door or scratches the bumper..... Well, no wonder the recording while parked feature is not available....

I still hope that this car DVR be available as an option for new cars... this seem very useful in case of accident, but it should be seamlessly integrated (like in dash navigation) so that no extra wires/batteries needed to power them.....
