They do attract attention, if that's what you want to know. But it all depends. You already bought a BMW, so that's the first attention factor.

The answer for you is yes.

The exterior design of most newer BMWs attract attention. You can thank Bangle and his horde for that. The 20" do stand out, but given the X5 is already a big SUV that attracts attention, it's like adding a match to a bonfire.
See, back in the good ol' days, when BMW was still a sensible company, their designs were more conservative without being boring, and didn't attract unwanted attention. |

I think the X5 looks best with the 20's. Sure, it's different to most of the X5's that you'll see in CT, but that's what I want in the summer months. The 20's do look more aggressive than the 18" or 19" but if one wants a SUV that blends in, then there's many of those to choose from...

They look agressive, but no too agressive if you ask me. I think 19's look really good and 20's look just about perfect. If you stick with OEM wheels they will look agressive and classy. 21's start to push the limits IMO.
You are already driving an X5, you are not going to hide it by driving on smaller wheels.

21's look really nice.
Get the 20"s. I actually prefer the ride with the wider 20" than the 18s or the 19s. If others judge you for that, tell them that handling is improved with the 20"s. Most people don't even realize that the 20" are optional features. they just assume that bimmers naturally have dubs on (especially if they are naive enough to judge you based on the size of your rims ) P.s. My motto - Do the best, forget the rest. |

I finally got my 20s on (pics later) and they look very aggressive in person. Pics are one thing but standing next to them... it's hard to believe it's indeed a BMW option.

20s are WAY too much, they drop performance, are difficult to maintain (watch for the road surface), and usually look like crap
