Newbie quick question - iPod video??

Hi,

I'm expecting delivery of my car in the next few weeks (this forum has been very useful, albeit as an observer as opposed to a contributor - so thanks!).

I have ordered the USB/audio interface - and wondered whether video on the iPod can be played via the interface onto the in-car screen? (I assume, as it's called an Audio interface, and not video, the clue may be in the title, but thought I'd ask!!)

Thanks in advance,

Justin

If you launch a video or a Poscast, you will just get the sound.
You could get the video if you have the rear DVD screen which has a video input by having the Apple video cable going from the headset connector to the rear Aux input.
But it will display only on the rear screen.
It exists optional non-BMW interfaces which allows you to add video inputs to be displayed on the front screen. Have a look here:

I got the pin outs for the AV input for the TV in the boot, and cut some old cables and wired them in.. so far zero cost!
Then I got the cable for 35 pounds from Apple store in London and then installed the video into the video and then bought a splitter that would turn 2 signals into one.. now feeding the sound into the mono input for AV IN.. Iphone then asks to "Play on TV" everytime you want to play video. This plays on front and rear screens.
Only thing is.. I somehow cant navigate TV channels on the rear screens.. anyone know how to get the rear TV button working?
