Just placed my order!
After many months of questions, research, reading, and pondering, I finally ordered our X5 3.0. I'm currently stationed overseas, so was able to order through BMW's military sales program. The prices are incredible, and the process is very, very easy (so far, at least). I don't go back to the states until September, so I've requested a September delivery at my local dealer. The good thing with X5's (and the other SC built models) is you can now do stateside delivery. The only downside is you lose the potential sales tax savings. This depends on your state - in NC I would have had to pay a whopping $150 sales tax. However, the aggrevation and wear-and-tear of shipping it from SC to my overseas location (which isn't exactly close by) then back to NC is worth the small amount of sales tax I'll end up paying.
Anyway, thought I'd tell everyone I'm a (soon to be) proud owner of a Space Grey E70 with black perforated Nevada leather/burl walnut interior and the following (US spec) options: Premium Package Active ventilated seat package Cold weather package Technology package Rear climate package Comfort access Auto tailgate 3rd row seats Heated rear seats Rear entertainment Sirius USB/ipod adapter Running boards Now I have to wait a long 5 months. More importantly, getting closer to getting the car means I'm closer be finally going home after a long year deployed. Last edited by jimf15e; 04-21-2008 at 12:04 AM. |
