Do your nav directional arrows pop up when needed? ....

i just read a post in another thread that claimed the newer X5 navigation systems will allow the directional arrows to automatically pop up as you approach turns.

I have a 2008 x5 and the left side shows map, while the right side of my screen shows 'current position' coordinates. I also have the heads up display which shows me the needed arrow info.

but i'm wondering if it's possible to have the arrows ALSO pop up automatically on the right side of the navigation screen as you approach turns.

is it supposed to do this?

thanks.

yes, i understand that... but that puts up the arrows 'constantly' when navigating... i thought there was a way for them to pop up when needed, but have something else otherwise displayed in the assistance window.

I have my right side displaying trip computer and the arrow there pops up when I get close to a turn only.

Maybe since you have headup, the system shows arrows there and does not bother showing them some place else.
Try not showing arrow info anywhere and they will pop up.
Eaven old X5 with MK4 will popup arrows if you are not showing map or arrows.

Agree with that and tried as well. When heads up is active, pop up pf arrows does not work. Simply turnoff heads up or unselect nav info to be diplayed on it and the pop up arrow will appear on the right screen. Alternatively have it constantly displayed.

ok, guess that makes sense... i wondered if that was the issue. still would have been nice to have the option for it to pop up with both heads up and on the nav... that way passengers can keep on eye on the navigating too....
