Aero kit with other plastic parts painted..?

A big HELLO to all of you here on xoutpost.com.
Was recommended by a friend to check out this forum for ideas and good conversation topics so decided to sign up and check it out

Just got myself a 4.8 X5 with pretty much all the goodies and already ordered some extras for it like the aero kit, a set of 23 inch Breyton's and a cat-back exhaust system.

My first thought and question i wanted to ask you guys was about the aero kit and the rest of the body, now i've seen some pics of ppl who have fitted aero kits but left the other black plastic body parts unpainted.
My question is, what do you guys think about having the black plastic body parts painted body color..? i did this on my old X5 and made it look awesome but im not sure about this one..?

I've said my opinion on this a few times... I see the body color painted bumpers on white X3s all the time and I think it looks pretty bad. Way too much white and then you have the black tires out of nowhere.

If the X5 was full body color I would've stayed away from white. Something like gray would probably work though. I personally like the white/black tone.

Yeah. I like the contrast of the aero kit with cars of white and space grey exteriors.

Only time I can see it being good to paint it all the way is with a dark, dark color like black.

thx for the links Canam! after seeing that im definately going for the paint job on the black parts!
body color of mine is the same grey as in the 1st link and otherwise also same except i also got the running boards on mine.

i'le take some pics of the car once the wheels have arrived and are fitted.
They're the Breyton Spirit in 23 x 11,0 with 315/25/23 Michelin's. Still considering having the center section of the wheels painted black instead of the high gloss silver, but will put them under and see how they look before deciding on that.

The exhaust system is being custom made by a local company, they use Ferrita exhausts and then custom make for each car individually. Already expect the sound to be awesome cos i used the same company for the cat-back on my previous 645Ci and it was like having an american muscle car in your garage!

I had the aero kit, black bumpers and moldings all painted. It looks great! Most of the cost was in the prep work to prepare the bumpers and moldings for painting (my body shop coated them with a special surface to enable a smooth and lasting paint job). I will upload pix shortly.

I also added the towing kit and had my body shop guy custom fit the aero kit...only a few simple cuts and you have a clean looking product.

good to know! i actually already booked the car in for the paint job, the aero kit will arrive painted within 3 weeks and rest of the black body parts have been booked in for paint at around the same time.

The 23" Breyton's will be arriving tomorrow (can't wait!) and gonna smack them straight on to see whether im gonna have them painted black or leave them with the high gloss silver finish!
