Transmission Problem (poll)

Sorry for starting another thread on this subject. Just gets me pretty fired up. Wanted to take a quick poll on how many people are having problems with their transmission.

Thanxs for participanting the the survey.

My X5 4.8 official went into production today! No turning back now... well.. at least without the ordeal of cancelling an order on the dealer and having them stuck with my custom built car.

Will post pictures and detail of car when I get it.

Seems like slightly less than half the survey participants (as of now) with the 4.8 do not have problems with the transmission. I hope I fall in that category.

It seems like most people with 3.0's don't have this problem. That's weird. They should use the same transmission, no?

How about a 4.4i tranny that bit the dust at 75,000 miles? I love BMW. They tell us to never change the fluid, then when the tranny dies, they hold out their hand and say that will be $8,000 dollars please. Never had a tranny die with that few miles before, even in cheap cars that I have had. I did change the fluid at proper intervals with cars I have had in the past. Hmmmmmm.

Was this common in the 4.4i? or was it just in a few cases?
