2008 (E70) Blu-Tooth Retrofit (blue tooth)

I have a friend with a 2008 E70 that did not come with the premium package. BMW reps told him that it is not possible to add a blu-tooth interface. They told him the proper wiring harness is not installed to support this add-on.

Has anyone added OEM blu-tooth to an E70? He's willing to replace/add nav or whatever it takes.

Any ideas?

There are two bluetooth kits available. One for cars with NAV and the other for cars without NAV. The dealers/reps as usual do not know what they are talking about! I have retrofitted NAV and bluetooth in several vehicles although not the E70. However I know someone who recently installed B/T in a 2008 X3 without NAV so it's definately possible. You just have to get your hands on a retrofit kit, or order the individual parts from the unknowledgeable stealer... The kits cost approx.$700 Adding NAV is a whole different ball game, and that will cost approx.$3500 or so.

Do you (or anyone) know the part numbers for OEM blu-tooth in an E70? I assume there is a basic list (assuming a premium package is present) and there would be some lesser known components to add the wiring harness (as this vehicle did not have the premium package).
