In the 6 months that I've had my 2008 X5, I've found that the Space Grey has grown on me more and more. If I was given an opportunity to make a fresh choice now, I think it would be my first choice.

It bothered me when I first got the car because there are so many Space Grey's in my area (I'm talking E53's too). But with the aero kit and 20" y-spoke wheels, it's different enough to keep me happy.

Saphire Black is a very nice color. My dad had it on his 01 540i.

I still cant believe he sold it.

I went with Space Gray based upon an X5 they had at the NYC Auto show, photos I searched for on this very site, and the initial marketing photos of the E70 that BMW released way back when. It really depends on the vehicle. Had I gone with a 535xiT, I would have gone with Monaco Blue or Black Saphire; with a Cayenne S - Basalt Black for sure. You can't go wrong with either.

Sapphire black, absolutely. Black X5s--especially E70s--look best, IMO. And interestingly enough, I have Deep Green Metallic on mine, which stays clean on the sides but shows dirt easily in back.
