WooHoo - we can wash our cars again! (OZ NSW)

Not sure whats happening elsewhere in the world, but in Australia a prolonged drough has made the governments enforce very tight water restrictions.

Here in NSW, where I live, they had a silly law where you could wash with a bucket and not a hose. The issue was, it took far more water to fill up buckets and throw all of that around, than it did using the hose, which can takes seconds to spray off panels/sections.

Well this week, due to recent good rain, they have lifted the restriction and in NSW we can once again wash our cars with ahose, but the must be instaled with a trigger nozzle.

tomorrow I will details the car

Stupid question but I've always wondered why an open water faucet would use less water when there's a trigger nozzle at the end. Obviously water usage coming out will be less but what's to keep pressure from building up back at the source in that case?

I know this but I'm referring to how there's a trigger nozzle at the end of it... the water isn't continuously coming out yet there's no back-pressure building up. And supposedly we're only paying for what is coming out (actually used).

Yep, your right, it has taken ages for this inept state government of NSW to realise that washing your car with a trigger nozzel fitted to your hose is more water efficient than using a bucket!
Here it is;
