Angry sunroof won't close

i have used the sunroof on many occasions. i always just slide the button back, so that the sunroof just slides back as opposed to moving upward. today i decided to push the sunroof button up and when it was time to switch off my car, the god damn thing didn't close evenly.

i stood up on my running boards to look at the sunroof, and it seems that one side is closed, but the other side is still in the open position....i don't know what is happening...

i am also a little worried because this is the time of the monsoon in india, and the downpours can be pretty torrential. luckily i have covered parking, so first thing in the morning i am heading over to the workshop to get this sorted.

i tried for a good 30 mins to close itm but no luck.......has this ever happened to anyone here? and if so, what did u do to get it closed?

thanks from delhi

You might want to get your owners' manual and brush-up on the manual override closing procedure, which uses an allen wrench I believe, just in case.

In order to close a popped up sunroof, you typically just push the button completely forward (towards the windshield). On one occasion, I found that it was not behaving (closes then re-opens) and I believe it was because I had the vehicle off while fussing with it in my driveway... all of a sudden the controls seemed to vary.

Try with it on. And what do you mean closed on one side... front vs. back popup? or left vs. right side on both glasses? Odd that it's even possible if it's the latter.
